A thermoelectric generator relies on the "thermoelectric effect" to convert heat directly into electricity. It is a solid state device with no moving parts and so it is completely silent and extremely reliable. Due to the high reliability of thermoelectric power supplies they have been used for years to provide electrical power in space missions where solar power is not available. Two examples of the many space missions that have relied on thermoelectric power supplies are the "Voyager" that was sent into deep space and has operated successfully for more the 20 years and the "Apollo" lunar missions where thermoelectric power supplies powered equipment that was left behind for more than a decade.      .      - Hi-Z Technology

EVERREDtronics has delved into R & D on thermoelectric materials and thermoelectric generator/Seebeck module since 2005, and we have an independant research center led by company professionals and professors from schools of materials science and engineering of Fudan University, Zhejiang University and Central South University. Through years immersion, we have become the leading innovator and manufacturer of the thermoelectric materials (Bi2Te3 based, PbTe based) and thermoelectric generators, and in near future, we will push further and develop products and heat reclaimation system for household and industrial applications, such as converting waste heat deprived from residential wood burning stoves and fireplaces, automotive exhaust system, metal refining, cement manufacturing, Natual gas pipelines into electricity, or even harness geothermal energy by utilizing this promising technology.

Now we could supply the thermoelectric generator modules with Aluminium plates instead of tradtional ceramic plates(Al2O3) .

Left image is the TEG254-1.4-1.6, and right is the same model but delivered with Aluminium plates (thickness 1.2mm, +/- 0.1mm), which could help improve the output by 10%-20% than ceramic TEG. For customized size of aluminium pad modules,Click.

Important

Test indicates that the TEGs share the same characteristics as those of batteries- when connected in series, Voutput=VTEG1 + VTEG2+... (Note the inner resistance of whole system will increase at the same time.); when in Parallel, VTEG1=VTEG2 =VTEG3=V...(Note: Connect the same TEG under the same circumstance and keep the heat flux as even as possible); Therefore, to achieve higher Output Voltage or current, you could combine series and parallel connection and use DC-DC converter, and if you need AC output, please use a DC-AC converter.
